Users ask, we listen!
Eiffel Software announced today the release of EiffelStudio 18.11, the latest version of its Integrated Development Environment (IDE). EiffelStudio is a comprehensive suite of tools enabling programmers to produce correct, reliable, and maintainable software systems while retaining control of the development process.
EiffelStudio 18.11 introduces no grand innovations. It focused instead on user satisfaction, addressing numerous requests for improvements, large and small. In the words of Bertrand Meyer, CTO of Eiffel Software, “always higher and further, yes, but in the unending quest for impressive new features one can lose track of what users really want for their day-to-day work. We decided it was time to sweat the small stuff! So we looked at all the improvement requests not yet handled, not all of them that small in fact, and implemented as many as we could. Not Nobel-prize level, maybe, but we change the software world one improvement at a time. And that’s good for us too, since here at Eiffel Software we also use EiffelStudio day-in and day-out.’
“For the current release of EiffelStudio we have decided to implement our users’ comments and suggestions to consolidate and extend various aspects of our IDE . It is fun and productive to team with our users to enhance our offerings” says Greg Soulages, VP of Sales at Eiffel Software.
